Points to spend, but so many classics!!!

Only just got online with the Wii a couple of days ago mainly due to the 360 breaking down again

After buying some points (2000) and having a route around the Nintendo products at home i managed to build up a total of 3200 points.

Now i never realised the Wii shop was packed with as many good games as it was so now i really want to build up a good collection.

Bought Super Mario World leaving me with 2400 points and i'm interested in a few games but it's just a question of which of the following do i prioritise?

Starfox 64 (loved on N64 but how well does it play using classic controller)?

F-Zero X (Again loved this on the 64 first time around)

Wave Race 64 (Heard it still plays well)

Zelda: Ocarina of time (never been a big fan of this kind of game but i know how many good reviews this has)

Lost Winds (Heard very good things about this)

Alien Crush Returns (Had import of Devil Crush on Megadrive long while ago and loved it)

Ghouls & Ghosts (Megadrive) (Used to love this)

Punch Out (unsure about this one & heard you get a lag on HDTV's making it insanely difficult)

Also a couple of SNES titles have caught my eye but other recommendations are welcome

I would get:

Zelda a link to the past......but Ocarina of time is just as good.
ghouls'n'ghosts
Lost Winds.

Keep the rest if you have any change. By the time you've finished the one you have plus those three, there'll be even more to choose from .

Tempted with Ghouls & Ghosts and Lost Winds which will leave me with 600 points.

Also traded some games in and have a bit or store credit so might get some more points with that

If you can stop them burning a hole in your pocket then keep 800 points for Secret of Mana that *fingers crossed* will be released soon.

I'd choose Link to the Past over Ocarina if I was going to buy a Zelda game but that is personal preference.

In general I'd go for games that you haven't played before rather than re-buying games you used to own as you'll get more longevity from them (assuming you spend wisely!!).

Thanks guys,

I've now got a further 2000 points meaning i have 4400

Tempted by one of the Zelda games, Tetris Party, Ghouls & Ghosts which would leave me with 1400 to spend on one or two others

You can buy them at most gaming shops.

You also get cards with official Nintendo Games (Mario Kart, Super Mario Galaxy etc...). and Nintendo consoles (DS and Wii). The carsd have a panel you scratch off. This reveals a number.

You register with Club Nintendo online then you can register the codes which will give you Stars. You can then either use these stars to buy stuff from the Nintendo Catalogue onlinem(where you can buy screensaver or keyrings and things) or, occasionaly you can swap your stars for points. When you swap them for points you get another code. Finally, you access the Wii Shop online (through your Wii) and register the code. It then credits points to your account. These points can be used to buy Wiiware and VC games.

Generally the more you spend on a game the more stars you get.

I think that's right. Hope it helps explain a little.

Re: Points to spend, but so many classics!!!

The choice can be a bit overwhelming at first but going off the games you listed above, Wave Race 64 seems as good to me now as it's ever been. I enjoyed it more on the VC the 2nd time around than I did originally on the N64. Classic.

Re: Points to spend, but so many classics!!!

I picked up waverace GC version for about £3 on here and it is class! Insanely difficult but great fun though. Another possible game needing a wii update with the wii controller?

Zelda: Ocarina of Time and witness the best game ever created! Aside from a couple of technical things, it really is still as good today as it ever was.
