Re: Wii Mario Kart Online - Preferred method of transport

Yoshi + standard bike = happy me

I've used that combo from day 1 as I like the maneuverability .. .. .. top speed isn't normally an issue in 12 player races, but acceleration and control are.

I've noticed that as time goes by more people are making the switch to bikes.. .. .. .. I used to be the only one on the starting line on two wheels but now it's a more even split.

Re: Wii Mario Kart Online - Preferred method of transport

I used to pick standard kart but after spending the morning doing 100cc single player with bikes i found it hard work going back to karts so now im sticking to my mii character and standard bike for now!

Wii Mario Kart Online - What's your preferred transport?

Added a poll to this.....might be interesting to see how it pans out .

For me it has to be light class bikes (I esp. like the magikcruiser and the nanobike).

Re: Wii Mario Kart Online - What's your preferred transport?

I use the standard kart all of the time on-line ATM. Not really given the others a try bar the standard bike as im doing the 100cc cups ATM. Not loving the bike so far, maybe I just need to get used to it, they seem to be bashed around a lot easier.

Ill give everything a try at some point and vote when I have decided.

The bikes are class but you're right they do get bashed about a lot the times i've been pushed off the track or off a mushroom jump is beyond the joke, and some of the guy's off here do it to me on purpose.

I've gone back to my Toad and standard bike this morning and won every race so i'm back to 7000! that won last long though.

Thanks for adding the poll.

Looking at the TT fastest times; they’re all set with bowser’s bike.

I was using the Concerto kart but after reading the stats for the vehicles, I'm going to try the wild wing (that's if you can use it online).

Re: Wii Mario Kart Online - What's your preferred transport?

Everyone is 100% correct at the "being bashed around bit".
My last outing on Rainbow Road had me knocked off the track a total of 7 times (it's a wonder I managed 6th place at all)...

...it's just that whenever I try to go back to karts, they seem too slow and too sluggish ......maybe I need to experiment with them more?

Re: Wii Mario Kart Online - What's your preferred transport?

I've used Yoshi with the standard kart since the SNES . I'm using the manual wheel with the new game, but I'm not convinced the above driver/kart combination is the fastest!? Any recommendations for something with similar handling???

Maybe I'm just not very good!

Re: Wii Mario Kart Online - What's your preferred transport?

I've been preferring bikes to karts, as I like the speed boost that you get when you wheelie. My favourite was the Mach Bike (medium) though now that I've unlocked the Dolphin Dasher, I'm finding that a bit quicker. It's really ugly though. I prefer the look of the Mach.

The Bowser Bike seems to be the fastest in Time Trials, but I don't like it so much for racing, as it has very little acceleration.

Re: Wii Mario Kart Online - What's your preferred transport?

I started with karts but always seemed to be beaten by bikes online and with mates so now i use rosalina and the twinkle star bike. Going just fine with them.

Re: Wii Mario Kart Online - What's your preferred transport?

Medium bikes for me, didn't expect to like them as much as I do(being a big MK fan since the original SNES release) but once I started using them I just find the karts a bit sluggish now.

The more opportunities for gaining speed in MK the better IMO and the bikes help to eliminate the slow tediousness of some of the long boostbar-less straights
