Wario Ware: No Multiplayer!!!!`

Unless I am being stupid, there doesn't appear to be a "Multiplayer" aspect to Wario Ware!

First on all, on the "Main Menu", it not actually a menu, as all you can select is the 'Single' box... Then you can choose from a list of 12 player, but can only choose one.

There is no mention of MultiPlayer in the manual and nothing that I can find in the game.

Also, your 2nd remote gets switched off when the game starts, so if there is Multi-Player its not going to use the 2nd remote at all.

Has anyone else noticed this? If this is the case, I am gutted as I have little interest in playing this kind of game on my own.. The whole point of getting this was for some kind of 'MultiPlayer"!!!

I look forwards to other peoples thoughts

Jon

I played it on the wii tour, players took turns to do a set of mini games sharing a remote.

edit: was just looking at a review and it mentioned multiplayer

Re: Wario Ware: No Multiplayer!!!!`

I know that all the reviews said "Multiplayer", but since I couldn't find any evidence of it from the start, I was obviously concerned.

How exactly do you get to the "Wii Tour"? What exactly do you have to do to unlock the MultiPlayer aspect?

Since I want to play Multiplayer at the weekend, i guess I had better get busy and try and unlock what I need.

Thanks

Jon

By Wii tour he means the tour of Wii consoles that is going around the country (I assume)

To get multiplayer you have to complete the single-player mission. This unlocks mini-games created for multiplayer including a 'survivor' style of gameplay whereby players keep playing and drop-out when they fail to complete a game.

Why it's coded this way - I'm not entirely sure, but it shouldn't be a massive headache to complete the game - given time.

Re: Wario Ware: No Multiplayer!!!!`

This is a bit of a disappointment.

I actually bought it so that I could play it with friends. It would be a learning experience for everyone and we would all be at the same level.

But now I have to play most, if not all of the games, to unlock the multiplayer mode.

But now, when friends come over, they won't have a clue what to do, where as I will be a relative expert!!

Its not the end of the world, but I do think its strange.. Having unlockable games such as the darts seems a good idea.. But to unlock the entire Multiplayer aspect seems a little weird!

It might turn out alreaght.. Perhaps having someone who knows what they are doing, when we come to play multiplayer might turn out to be a good thing. Rather than us all look blankly at some of the games and think "what the **** was that all about", now atleast someone will know what to do!

Give them about an hour in single player mode, then get competitive!

Just received mine today for exactly the same reason as yourself, we have friends round tomorrow evening and was hoping to play it with them, am actually pretty p1ssed off I've got to unlock the multiplayer part, especially as the adverts seem to highlight the multiplayer side of it !!

Thanks for the heads up though, guess I will have to try and put some time in on it before tomorrow evening....... it's a tough job but someones got to do it !!

:sigh: All is not lost!

Do it the way we used to play games!

Have a go each at each level, passing the remote around so you can share the hard work of getting through the one player levels and unlock the multi!

I appreciate what your saying and hopefully that will be fine. I just find that when i try and get non gamers to play a console in a party atmoshphere it has to be an instant grab and simple. This is why buzz worked so well, very simple and straight in to mulitplayer competition, which is often the key, there has to be an element of competition to aid the banter.

The other issue is, is that the party favourites have been buzz and wii sports which are merely replications of real world activities that non gamers can easily relate to, wario is a lot closer to traditional video game teritory and thus if it's not competitive and ready to go from the off then I've got no chance !!!.... sounds sad i know but that's just my experience of non gaming guests !!!!

Rayman was exactly the same and it does work quite well passing the remote round. Take turns to do a game and if you cant do it someone else can have a go. On Rayman I found there were games that I just couldnt do, yet other people could complete them first time. You will complete it in no time.

To be honest the games more rely on timing, reactions and skill rather than practice so your friends should easily be able to catch up and may be better at some games from the off.

I do think that finishing the 1 player game 1st is a bit daft though and don't see why they have done this.
