New installation TV broadband and Telephone line

Hi

I am currently with BT for Broadband, Sky Satellite for my Sports package and BT telephone line for my Textphone (I am deaf so don't use a phone). I occasionally plug in a Fax machine, but the useage on my telephone line is very small. But I need the line for textphone (Typetalk) occasionally and for emergencies.

Anyway, my question is;-

If I took out a complete package with Virgin Media to cover BB, Sky Sports and telephone line, what exactly is involved connection-wise? (there is a cable line outside as others in my street have VM).

I have lots of Satellite and AV stuff, incl two Skyboxes (which I will keep for the FTA channels when changed to VM). I need to know what exactly is involved in the installation. ie Do they have to come inside and mess up my mass of cables that I have already for my setups :-) Or will they just supply two boxes - a modem and a TV receiver? Which is my preference as I would like to set them up myself and feed the outputs into my complicated arrangement! What are the output options for connecting the TV box? ie is there a HDMI out? Is there any decent AV connectivity options? As for broadband, I am currently getting a crap service from BT where I have never ever got more than about 2.4MB downspeed and this only on a good day. Most evenings it is as low as 500KB and sometimes it just drops out completely. Will VM supply a more stable and maybe a bit higher speed? I am not asking for 8MB but something like 3-4 MB constant would be fine.

Thanks if you can give me any advice as I have never had cable before.

Barry
