How simple is V+ compared to Sky+

I've been seeing Sky advertising how simple Sky+ is to program and use.

I've got V+, and find it pretty easy to record stuff etc. How much easier is Sky+ ?

I've never even seen a V+ box, but Sky+ is a doddle!I can't think how they could make it any easier to be honest. Very well thought out and logical to use. Mine is the newer Amstrad box, i've no idea if the older boxes are the same or different!

Re: How simple is V+ compared to Sky+

diffrence include faster navigation on sky for one you also have a +24 hr and -24 hr button where v+ only has +24(next day) button so if you push the button twice you need to scroll back hour by hour.
Sky is much quicker and I belive sky can adjust the start time ie if football runs on the sky+ will start at the new time. I think I read somewhere v+ doesnt. Other than that both do the same job its just what you get used too.

Re: How simple is V+ compared to Sky+

v+ advantages over sky are that it upscales any SD image to 1080i, which gives it much better clarity. It is slower to respond, though.

Re: How simple is V+ compared to Sky+

Big advantage as far as I am aware is that V+ can record 2 programmes while you watch another whereas Sky+ can only record 1.

I do not know where this Sky+ is faster idea comes from, my (recently installed) V+ box is as fast as any of relatives/friends Sky+ or Sky HD boxes.

I can see no real difference in ease of use and PQ via HDMI on the V+ is certainly better. Also of course V+ can deliver real on demand services including BBCiPlayer C4OD etc direct to the TV.

A further advantage of V+ is that you do not own the box so should it go wrong VM fix it for free whereas with Sky you pay.
