Hi, i am a new to the forum and i wanted to know how to connect a hd dvd player to my tv which only has one hdmi output.i have that connected to the v+ box.i have bought a splitter but when i try to connect the v+ box and the dvd the picture goes.it is not and switchable splitter wonder if that has something to do with the problem

You're trying to take 2 sources into 1 display and I'd say yes it has to be switchable as information about the display is sent down the HDMI cable, if it gets two if these it'll get confused.
