V+ sound and epg but no pic?

Something wierd's happened to my V+... I can see the epg, guide etc, and I can hear the sound, but no "broadcast" pictures are coming through to the tv.

I've called an engineer round, but that's not until Friday i.e. nearly 4 days with no telly!!

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a simple answer?

Ahhh. You're not connected by HDMI are you, by any chance?

This has popped up a couple of times before - the HDCP handshaking has gone screwy so the box thinks you're not 'allowed' to watch TV. Try connecting by Scart to see if this sorts you out in the interim.

If you already are using SCART then I'm sorry, I don't know.

I get this too and I am also connected by Hdmi cable. What the heck does " the HDCP handshaking has gone screwy " mean? Does that mean a faulty cable or a fault with the box ? Really annoying as it only happens sporadically.

Switched the HDMI leads round and it worked... something went very wierd but I'm up and running again. Put it down to experience I guess
