I am about to hook up a friend's new home theater system. She has a virgin box Samsung smt-2110C. I want to take along the best cables to hook it up to her new Panasonic plasma when it arrives next week.
Can anyone help me out?

Does this box output via hdmi or something else? Which is the output for the best possible PQ?

I have Sky at home so dont know what Virgin offers.

RGB Scart is the best you'll get, unless you upgrade to the V+ which offers HDMI & component.

As above, RGB SCART is the best you can get with the 2110. To even begin to appreciate the new plasma TV your friend should upgrade to V+.

Also there are no audio outputs other than via SCART so you wont be able to connect audio to an AV amp.

Pretty sure the SMT-2110C has optical. Not sure about analogue stereo though.

no optical buddy,scart is all its got.if you get a scart adapter ,then you can run it into an amp,thats what i did mate.them boxes are a bit poo really,at least the basic sky ones have stereo out!!

The 2110 does have an optical output. The 2100 doesn't.

dont worry bout the av sockets if you have a dvd recorder they usually have front and back right and left outs, hey presto surround sound
