Media Center work with VM?

Moving house and might get VM. Would also like to build an HTPC. Does it play nice with VM? Do you miss out on anything this way - Video On Demand, etc., or does it all work nicely through the PC?

Anyone got experience witht his, and can tell me if it is worth bothering.

Thanks

Re: Media Center work with VM?

If you mean using an HTPC instead of a Virgin Media box, don't think you can do this yet. You'd need a cable capture card, which the New Zealand spec version of my HTPC has but nowhere else, the last time I checked. I also think there's more to it than that. Have a look over on the computer forums but I've not seen anyone achieve this yet.

Re: Media Center work with VM?

you can use a dvb-c card but don't expect interacive to work( ok moot point as it rarly works anyway) no virgin central or vod. just broadcast channels in the dvb-c standard,

you will also need the box key( which can be a real pain in the arse to get) for your and a nagavision cam emulator if your going to use your offical sub card. it's far easier to just use an illegal software l plug in to whatever dvb viewing software you use get all the channels.

Also it's the cable companies network and it's probably against the terms and conditions to use such anything but one of there boxes.
