TVDrive - Scart vs. Component signal to SD TV (Panny PW7)

Hi all,

Quick question. I'm getting a TVDrive - and wondering the best way to connect it to my non-HD plasma (Panny PW7).

Anyone out there got a similar panel (PW6? PW8?) and been able to test the difference in PQ from an SD source (RGB SCART) vs. a HD source (Component - RCA or otherwise)?

The Plasma is not HD, so I'm not really sure if it's worth buying another input board for my plasma to take an HD signal (current component inputs taken up by xbox 360 and VGA on PW7 won't take component signal).

Additional info - I current take the SCART (RGB) from my normal telewest box and connect it to the VGA input on the plasma using a JS-Tech convertor.

All responses gratefully received!

Exactly the same setup as me,
got a pw6 with js/scart connected to tvdrive, aswell as 360and tv drive connected to my amp via component,as for pq the sd stuff via js looks fine, but i would say sd via component does edge it slightly, then hd is another matter pic is stunning even on this non HD panel.

Any question just ask.

You asked for a comparison between the two? and i gave you my opinion between the two outputs,i watch tv via component/tvdrive but the scart lead is just connected to vga/js box, dont use it to view tv.

ah, ok. Sorry - from your post I thought that you have the TVDrive hooked up to the plasma using both Scart and component - and I couldn't see why u'd do that (other than to help a fellow avforums user work out what to do with his TVDrive )
