How to control volume of Optical out on TVDrive?

Hi Folks,

Is it possible to configure the Telewest remote control so that the volume buttons control the output level of of the optical out port? I have it connected up to a DD amp and I would like to use the TW remote to control the volume, instead of using the amp remote.

Thanks,
Kenny.

Probably not - If you have the dosh I suggest you buy a learning remote that will "take over" being all your remotes.

Reducing volume digitally results in loss of resolution and so is not practiced normally. My Denon remote can mimick the TVDrive remote so I can get around it that way.

Thanks, but I already have a Kameleon universal remote and it refuses to learn some of the buttons on the TW remote. And I actually quite like the feel of the TW remote, but not having control of the volume is a bit of a pain. I wonder if I can get the TW remote to control My Pioneer DD amp directly? Is there a comprehensive list of codes somewhere?

The TW remote is not a universal remote. It will only control volume and mute on TV's. Any codes available are published on the screen at: Blue button/settings and services/telewest help and info/tv/trouble shooting/remote control. There is a lot of good things said about the Harmony remotes, in particular that they can be updated via the web. I really think they are your best bet.
