tvdrive and hitachi 42pd7200

Hi sorry if this has been asked before but I've recently ordered the tvdrive from Telewest (jumping ship from Sky) and I have the Hitachi 42pd7200 plasma.Does anybody on this thread have the same?If so what's the picture like (SD and HD) It's pretty good at the mo via Sky on RGB but I've heard it's even better using HDMI.....is this true?...what are your thoughts? Oh and what is the 4.3 issue like with this plasma?. Thanks in advance.

Hi - I have the exact same setup. I've had the tvdrive for about 4 months now, and whilst I was initially dissapointed with the content, now we have ITV and BBC HD up and running, I'm very happy with it.

I have the tvdrive connected via a HDMI to DVI cable to the PD7200, and the picture quality in HD is exceptional. The tvdrive is set to output at 1080i, and the PD7200 has been calibrated using a HDTV setup disk (can't remember the name of it, but can check when I get home if you want). The picture through SD is very good, though obviously not as good as HD. The SD picture through HDMI is way better than Scart, not sure about how much better than component.

The 4:3 can't be changed on the PD7200 when connected by HDMI - this doesn't bother me at all as I'd rather watch shows in the original format, but I totally understand why it can bother others!

Overall, I'm *very* pleased with the tvdrive and the PD7200 (and I'm very picky about picture quality!)

hope this helps...

...Also, 4:3 is displayed as 4:3....you can't expand it, although some people have said you can on certain other panels, if I remember correctly.

I have these settings on all channels that allow them

AV6 (HDMI) allows you to set all of these. If I remember correctly, RGB1 (DVI) which is what I have my tvdrive connected to, allows you to set most of these (but not all)
