TVdrive missing recordings??

Hi all,

I've done a search but couldn't find an answer so maybe someone can help.

My TVdrive every now and then doesn't record what its told too. This has happened for planned series 3 times (the show was listed in planned recordings and the series and next show are still listed but theres nothing in the recorded page!!) and for a single show once.

its not a mjor prob but wanted to know whether others have this happen or whether its just my tvdrive and i should get it replaced?

cheers

It seems so...

I thought i was free from a lot of the complaints that other TVD users had, but yesterday the box said it was recording CSI, and it showed up as recording, it appeared to be rewindable when it was recording as well even though i wasn't on that chanell, which made sense, and then at the end it just wasn;t in the TVD recorded programmes list :-( weird... the box rebooted itself a couple of times about an hour later, so maybe it was just in the process of keeling over slowly?

Ohhh - I've noticed this..try going into the alphabetical list to find your recordings - i lost my blue planet stuff but managed to find it this way by luck when very drunk randomly pressing buttons and singing silly songs!

I have a problem with my box that goes something like this:

I can set a program or series to record and generally they work fine. If i happen to flick onto that channel when the program is recording then it does not show up in the listed programs. The show is definatelly recording as i can hear the box whirring but i guess it cant do the rewind tv and the record function at the same time or something.

What i do know is that its really annoying, when recording something and channel surfing i can inadvertantly f*** up a planned recording.

Unhappy Known Issue

TV Drive's failure to record series is an issue known to Telewest. If you set it to record it records the next programme in the series, but none subsequently. This happens even when the planned recording menu shows that it is planned. When I found out about it eventually after several calls to customer service they told me that they were aiming to correct it in their next software upgrade..... we'll see. In the meantime, my advice is to ignore Record Series and count on recording only one programme at a time. It's a pain......

damn, thats not very good is it, did they give a timeline?

The thing is though that most of my series that are set DO record, its just everynow and then they fail AND it has failed on one off recordings using the record button.

sigh
