New Install - TVDrive

Just had my TVDrive installed very happy with it. Couple of 'teething' problems though, wondering if anyone else has had the same?

When the engineer installed it he tried to connect using scart, i had to ask him to use hdmi. Unfortunalty he couldnt to get that to work with my tv (LG 32LX2R, firmware 3.60 / 3.70 so should be ok)

So, he then told me that componant is the best way to go anyway as its a preferred connection to HDMi? I do have my doubts about this, but have to admit the picture quality is superb!

I cant seem to get the volume to work using the remote on the TVDrive, but am convinced this is due to me connecting it to my amp with an optical cable, anyone else have this issue?

If I turn off the TVDrive all settings are lost and it reverts back to scart, odd?

Hi

You should be able to use HDMI, but you really need scart as well to see what you are doing.

From memory, when you change to HDMI in the settings menu you then need to press OK to change settings and then "Text" to confirm and keep the new settings. In between you need to manually change your TV input to HDMI.

As HDMI is digital it should offer a slightly better image quality then component which is analogue and it also carries audio so you can use your TV speakers if you wish.

The TV drive remote volume and mute controls don't affect the TV drive output, they are for controlling your TV / amp.

Instructions and remote codes can be found by going to :
"Settings & Services", "Telewest Help & Services", "TV", "Troubleshooting", "Remote Control" - hopefully you will find a code there suitable for your amp.

regards

Brian

Mate I did a post somewhere about your probs with HDMI, do a search for it.. its what the above guy said, but in more detail

As for your installer telling you the pic is better with component, thats just his excuse coz he could'nt install the hdmi!!
