Help Please: TVDrive coming tomorrow

I have a Panny TH42PW7 and have just ordered Telewest HD. Currently the Panny displays through a Panny tuner box which has component inputs used by the DVD player and Scart connection to the Telewest STB.

The picture is significanlty better when watching a DVD compared to the cable signal but I assume that is because of the component connection.

What will be the best way to hook up the new TVDrive box when it arrives tomorrow? The audio will go through the Sony DAVs550 via optical?

Any help would be most appreciated - I'm not quite sure what the native resolution of the telly is and what will happen to the picture?

Many thanks
TZ

Best to worst -

For HD TV
1. HDMI
2. DVI (via HDMI adapter)
3. Component

Otherwise - SD
4. RGB
5. Composite
6. RF

Not sure re the specs of your telly.

The back of the tuner box has 1 component input and 3 scart inputs plus an Svideo connection.

The panasonic is a series 7 display panel TH42PW7

Unless the TV can accept component signals at 720p or 1080i, you will not have access to hd. In any case with no HDMI, the engineer does not have to do any more than connect your TVDrive via scart. Component install will be down to you.
What is the model of your media box?

Apparantly the screens resolution is 852x480 pixel array.

Do you know if this will display through the component inputs or should I just make sure I use the RGB scart. I know I wont be able to view true HD stuff but I want to make sure that I get the best picture possible.

Many thanks for the replies so far

What is your media box model. If you are not using a media box, what is the model plasma you are using. We can't give you specifics about HD capability without that info. Your resolution suggests even if your screen can accept the HD feed, you will not be seeing full resolution.
