THANK YOU Telewest!!

THANK YOU Telewest!! You may take some stick, but i remember the days when we had a Reddifusion box on the wall, with 3 glorious channels to watch!!! Im only 38!!!
Yeah, ive had problems occasionally with my Broadband connection, tv service etc, but the people who man the phone helplines are REALLY polite, well trained, and always try to do their best....
Sometimes maybe i take all this new technology for granted & moan at every little problem, but when i look back, i remember watching the Epilogue around midnight, and that little white dot disappearing on screen.....
Yeah, we may slag you off, you may well make VAST sums of money from our subs, BUT YOUR ALL STILL GREAT, cos i have my TV Drive box, my footie in Glorious Hi-Def, and more channels than i can watch...so instead of the usual moans....heres a BIG THANKS...

Eddy think you're old? I can remember having only 2 channels and they both closed down at 10 o'clock, think of the complaint's on this forum if that was still the case, people don't know when they're well off. Telewest, the BBC, SKY, Channel 4 and ITV deserve a pat on the back for the pioneering work being done on Hi Def broadcasting rather than the moans and knocks from various quarters

Get rid of all the crap and you can roll all the channels into two good ones.

yeah , thanks TW for providing me with an unresponsive sluggish TV drive , thanks for giving me low bitrate sky channels and forcing me to almost puke each time I see major pixelation on certain chanels like sky 1 and sky news , thanks to TW for my tvdrive box rebooting itself and me missing 5 minnutes of the brazil game last night, thanks for trying to charge me £10 for a HDMI cable that is your responsibility to provide.

and before I forget , thanks for sending workers to my home that blatently lied about what my tvdrive box can do and thanks for not displaying the menu system correctly when my tv is set to 1080i.

And thanks also for telling me it wil take over a week to get an engineer to my home to look at your faulty tvdrive box , I dont mind my cable box rebooting in world cup matches , we dont need to watch 90 mins do we ? I can just grab the highlights later on right ?

Thanks TW your the best .

Bad luck

Hi conkey . some people just seem to get a raw deal in life. you have plenty to complain about and rightly so. my experience is the complete opposite. I had 2 faults so far resulting in a new box, both seen to the next working day. Missing some of the Brazil game is the last straw i bet. phone 2nite and tell them if you don't have a new box by 5pm Thursday you will cancel. if they still say no. ask to be put through to cancellations. And there if you are lucky ( which you are definitely not) you will be in touch with the grand wizard who seems to perform all sorts of miracles. . Works for me every time...

I am on the phone to them now , thanks for the advice

and btw I am a geordie too

edit:

Firstly I appologise to the thread starter for posting as I shouldhave posted it in a complaints thread .

I think I just needed to lett off a little steam hehe

Regarding my phoen call to TW they said they will get an engineer to call me up beetween 3 and 5 days , I told them if it was not dealt with within 5 days I am going tohave them uninstall my TVdrive and I will get sky pluss.

They sounded very sympathetic on the phone and I mentioned that I wanted soem form of compensation for the problems I have had because not only have I had problems that I mentioned in my first post I also found out today that my england game that I recorded last week did not record correctly and stops exactly when becham is taking the first free kick , as well as that when they replaced my tvdrive box the lasttime I lost my recording of the alan shearer testimonial.

TV drive has been a nightmare for me but as this is a thankyou thread I will thank TW for giving me an excelent internet connection that has been superb for me over the last 4 years , the telephone line has always been great and when I had a website hosted on the TW ccustomer webspace it was perfect and very fast .

So I do with hand on heart than TW for that , but they need to do fix my tvdrive quickly otherwise I will always have a bad taste in my mouth when I think of TW and TV .
