Hi all,

I just got Telewest installed last night and found that it has an optical output. However, I can't seem to get any sound to output using it from my amp. The amp is assigned correctly and the cable definately works.

I'm guessing that the Telewest box is set to output only from the analogue connections and this needs to be reassigned to use the digital connection. I couldn't find it anywhere in the menu's though.

Does anyone know how to get sound using the optical output?

Any advice would be helpful.

ISTR that only the TV Drive actually has a working optical output, and that while the Scientific Atlanta non-PVR boxes have an optical output it's disabled in firmware and un-enablable. So if it's not a TV Drive, you'll need to use analogue out.

If it is a TV Drive, optical out is enabled through the main picture settings menu.
