Well, I can't comment on HD stuff yet... but I have the telly and its awesome for the cash. Can't complain at all.

Took a bit of configuring and I ended up buying Component cables for my DVD player, but the picture is fabulous.

Watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang on it last night and was gobsmacked with the quality of the picture.

cool I am pretty sold on the tv just wanted to know how it handles HIdef stuff, I will only be using it for TV as I watch all my movies through my PJ set up, I have heard that some hd tvs could truggle with scalling if a programm is broadcasted in 1080.

Ive had that model of tv for about 3 months. Personally i feel that the upscalling from standard def is poor. You can see loads of artefacts, when you look at a dvd picture up close. From about 1.5 metres though you cat see then. I use a Samsung hd-950 dvd player connected through hdmi. For high def i output my pc via VGA.

ive tried to take some photos so you can see.

This is Mr + Mrs Smith NTSC DVD, SD thru HDMI

This is T2 thru VGA from PC WMV-HD 720p.

I regularly run hd movies thru it form my pc and the results are stunning, picture is sharp and colours are vibrant.

ps. Ive only got a 6mp pentax compact digicam so the photos are about as good as i can get

Hope this helps

Personally, I'd shop around and get one of the R7 range for about £100-150 more. the LE32R74BDX is the current samsung of choice, certainly over the R41 range. The panel is newer.

Play.com's price is £950, but a check on pricerunner will get you close to the £800 mark
