NTL remote wont work with PW7

Hi,

Can anyone help with an issue my brother is having with his NTL pace box?

When the plasma is on and he presses the channel up/down on his NTL remote it doesn't always work properly, sometimes it does nothing then jumps two or three channels, sometimes the NTL box's mute comes on.

BUT when he puts the plasma TV into standby the buttons on his remote all seem to respond fine?

Any ideas what's going on here?

Nick

The signals (whatever they are!!) emitted from the plasma do affect the signal sent by the NTL control. There have been several threads on this and apparently a piece of electrical tape strategically placed on the NTL box does wonders. I had same problem and put my NTL box in a cabinet with a glass front, works perfectly every time now!

Yep plasmas emit high frequency IR radiation which can interfere with some IR controlled devices Cable boxes are quiet prone but its not insurmountable
