Telewest TVDrive Demo in Currys

Just thought I'd let you know that Currys have a TVDrive hooked up to a panasonic LCD (I think) showing a Telewest sales promotion video in HD with a rolling demo. It looks pretty good, very clear and sharp but not the best eye candy I've seen. They could have done with just showing a movie or something but its nice none the less.

It's not connected to Telewest - its just running off its own hard drive and was connected via HDMI. It's a nice looking box of tricks.

It's a pity though that the TV they has it connected to was only about 32" - they could have done with plugging it into either the 50" DLP or 43" Plasma near by for greater effect.

The comet round the corner has nearlly all its Plasmas connected to a single PC running a rolling HD demo - but not SKY+ HD anywhere to be seen.

Cheers

Bizarre

Were they acting as sales agents in the same manner as they do with SKY?

Yes I think so - there were leaflets and adds everywhere saying you could buy Telewest Broadband & HDTV with TV Drive there and then. First time i've ever seen cable sold in that way.

Yep Currys and Dixons will be selling the T-Drive acting as agents for Telewest. Theres also a suggestion that you maybe able to buy the T-drive at sometime in the near future
