Telewest TVDrive (HD) & Marantz VP12S3

Looking for advice / experience / wise words etc.

I now have the new Telewest TVDrive (HDMI), and also have a Marantz VP12S3 DLP projector (DVI, HDCP enabled).

I have the TVD connected to my plasma (Pio 506 XDE) via HDMI, and the picture is very appealing, especially the HD (True HD & upscaled) content available on Teleport.

So, to connect the TVD to the pj i will need a long cable (10m - 15m) to go from TVD to PJ. The cable will need to be one of the following:

HDMI - DVI cable
HDMI - DVI adaptor, with DVI - DVI cable
HDMI - HDMI cable, with HDMI - DVI adaptor

anyone have any comments on:

will it work (compatability, cable distance)?
best solution
costs / suppliers?

come on guys, let me know what you think

A HDMI - DVI cable is the cable to go for. At that kind of distance you really don't want to add adaptors etc...

Also. Keep it as short as possible.

I am running a 15 m HDMI to DVi and I have a HDMI connector on the end of the DVI and I am having no problems, the beuty and the downfall of HDMI and DVI cables the fact that they are digital so you will either get a picture or you wont (that is you will get a scrambled image with artifacts).

Good luck Darko

That's not quite correct. You can get "sparkles" which show up a various amounts of snow which is very annoying.

A 15m run with no problems is great Darko. Must be great cables your using there.
