Angry volume problems with Samsung smt-2100c NTL box

Hi Peeps hope someone can help me, about 3 months ago NTL came and swapped over our cable box to the new Samsung 2100c model the box itself works ok although my tivo was happier contolling the previous unit. Anyway when they plugged it in I think they went into a set up menu and set the volume at half way WHICH IS FAR TOO QUIET!. I have too set my Denon a1se at -9 to get an ok'ish volume. Ive tried going into the standard menu but you can't asjust the volume from there and nothing happens when you use the remote volume controls.
If there is anyone who can tell me how to get into the setup menu to increase the volume I would really appreciate it, this is driving me nuts!
