Freeview and NTL

Hi Chaps

Do these two actually go together? I purchased one of these for my mum and it is not picking up any channels at all.
Do we have to get an aerial fitted?

freeveiw requires an externalaerialtorecive a signal froma digital transmitter see: http://www.freeview.co.uk/ to check she can recive a signal
