samsung v+ box a bit slow

all in all pretty happy with my virgin media install that replaced all of my old services from different providers

however my one gripe is with my new samsung v+ box that everyone raves about, i have to admit it does look great but scrolling right of left to view different channels is alot slower than the old sky plus box,

its not a complete disaster i can cope with it but someone mentioned you can turn the live rewind tv feature off (which i dont really use) and this will make it alot faster as the v+ box sets up the record on each channel you view

any thoughts/other experiences will be appreciated

p.s. if it helps anyone i piped the signal to my rooms upstairs using coax and rf modulator from maplins

thanks

I've used both and have not noticed any lag on the Samsung. It's by far the best box Virgin hav ever released. How long does it take to change channels? For me it's about a second before a picture is displayed. You will get used to it after a while.

There's no way to turn off live rewind at the moment, I've read elsewhere the V+ picture is played out from the HDD and not directly from the tuner.

Interesting what you say about play out from the HDD.

I have actually timed changes on my V+ box using time coded recordings of the changeover as suggested on another forum. I am using an SA V+ and the changeover is precisely 25 frames i.e 1 sec except when an ITV channel is involved when the changeover varies between 35 and 50 frames. BBC to Sky to Nat geo to C5 all 1 sec but any change to from ITV/2/3/4 etc. is longer?

In my experience with the exception of the ITV glitch neither the Sky+ or Sky+HD are any quicker. Standard sky boxes are quicker as are standard V boxes.
