Some initial thoughts and questions on a V+ box

I've just had a Samsung V+ box installed, never had cable before only freeview ona PVR.

First comment would be that the UI is awful. Buttons keep changing uses. In some screens the red button is page down, in other the grenn button is page down. Why?

Also, I have the M+ package so lots of unavailable channels. I don't seem to be able to hide the channels I don't have. This means I have to scroll through pages and pages to get to channels I may want to watch. I thought Favourites would do it but thats even worse. Why can't I just pull up a list of now/next on the channels I'm interested in.

Does anybody have any idea if I can hide channels? At the moment my wife is refusing to use it as the usability and design is so poor. If thats teh case its going back so help or advise please!

Re: Some initial thoughts and questions on a V+ box

Its a matter of getting used to it Im afraid, its always been that way,the guide lists all channels and highlights the ones you pay for, there is no way you can alter that...Ive always found its the red button for page down and the green for up in the guide and its pretty fast,on the Samsung anyway, My Wife was the same, she found it difficult to go through so I just made her a list of the program numbers she usually watches, not that many, and she just enters the numbers manually, after a short time she got to remember the ones most watched,so its is real easy ...
