V+ Issues - No taping two programmes at the same time

Hi all,

Have noticed a bit of an issue with my V+ box. I thought you should be able to record two channels at the same time, whilst watching a third. However, the other night I recorded the Liverpool game on ESPN HD and had Flash Forward on Five on series link, which were on at the same time. The EPG warned me of a problem with two recordings clashing and, sure enough, Flash Forward failed.

So, if you're meant to be able to two channels whilst watching a third, what am I doing wrong? Is there a setting I am missing or is the box faulty?

Thanks for you advice as always.

John

You should be able to do this I use it all the time. One thing however did you have any other recording timed that finished just before or started just after Flash Forward.

I don't think so but I will double check. It only brought up those two recordings on the EPG when it told me about the clash.

Maybe one of of my tuners isn't working.

As far as I know the v+ box is the same as sky boxes where you can record two programmes BUT you can only watch something else that you have recorded not something from a third channel as this would mean there where 3 tuners.

The V+ box has 3 tuners! (Better than Sky+/Sky+HD)

You can actually record 2 watch a third live and replay a fourth pre recorded programme to a second TV simultaneously!

You can even start to watch a programme you're still recording, either via the VCR out SCART attached to a second TV or via the main output to a TV.

Re: V+ Issues - No taping two programmes at the same time

Many thanks for all replies - I experimented last night and taped ITV1 and C4 at the same time whilst watching a third channel and it was fine.

But that doesn't explain why it wouldn't tape ESPN HD and Five at the same time the other night, when I wasn't even watching a third channe. Do you think it could be that one channel was HD whilst the other wasn't? Or will that make no difference?

It should make no difference. You can record either broadcast format at the same time.
