Can you still watch recordings after cancelling Virgin?

Hi, I bought a V+ box but have now cancelled my subscription with Virgin which will take effect in a few days. I have a lot of programmes recorded - will I still be able to watch them?
Thanks for any advice

No you can't and neither did you buy the box from Virgin Media. They should make arrangements for its return to them after your contract ends.

As per the OP, Virgin Media should be sending you out a Pre-Paid box for you to post them the V+ box back. £149 does sound like quite a big chunk of money for installation though and you might want to query that. Not sure why you would want to keep the V+ box anyway; once the subscription ends, Virgin see fit to bar access to most of the usual Freeview channels like E4 and Dave etc for some reason.

Its actually a one off payment for the additional services associated with the V+ and not for installation.

I used to have V+ (actually a Telewest TVDrive cough ) and don't remember paying £149. Then again I did take 3 services (TV, Phone, Broadband) at the time as it was on offer so this could explain why.

BTW the TV Drive was just what they called it before they rebranded Telewest/NTL as Virgin (box is the same as the SA V+ Box)

I too have my original TVDrive, installed March 2006. Back then the pricing for TVDrive was totally different. I think the install was £50 (unless you kept the original STB) and you also had to pay £10 per month (FOREVER or until you paid the 'conversion' fee to have the £10 monthly fee reduced to zero).

Re: Can you still watch recordings after cancelling Virgin?

£50 sounds more like it, I suppose if paying the £150 cancels out the £10 a month extra for having the V+ box then it's worth it in the long run.
