Re: Help with router ?

Try right clicking on it and selecting 'diagnose and repair' , then you should get an option to reset the network adapter. It looks like your computer is not getting an ip address from the router.

Re: Help with router ?

If i right click on the icon i described i get disable, status, repair, change firewalla settings and open network connections, iv tried to renew the IP address but it doesnt do anything. If i open up the network connections and right click on the network port and go to settings it says "You might not be able to access the internet or some network resources. This problem occured because the network did not assign a network address to the computer.

Think ill give virgin a ring next week,

Re: Help with router ?

The upside down ? mark is the internet light - the letter i with a circle around the bottom. When it's orange, it means it's not receiving info from the modem properly. This either happens when:

1 - You plug the modem into a lan port labelled 1-4 instead of the internet/wan port.
or
2 - You don't follow a logical reboot of your equipment as instructed after you physically connect it up.

Power the modem and router off, power on the modem first, wait for the lights to steady. Once they have, power on the router - your internet light should now be green and your PC will no longer have that 169 IP giving it 'limited or no connectivity'.

Should be in the first lot of instructions on the cd supplied which explains physical setup.
