Speed question just upgraded

I all I've just upgraded from 30mb to 60mb connection. I'm only getting a max speed of 35mb on my wireless devices, called virgin and have been told that I only can get half the speed on wireless devices and that it's impossible to get 60mb wirelessly, is this true? All my stuff is wireless and would be no point having 60mb.

Thanks

Simon

Wireless with the Super Hub is a bit of a mixed bag. There's no reason you shouldn't see the full 60Mbps wirelessly, but the Super Hub performance can be poor in this respect.

For example, this is my speed test, done over wireless:

However, I am only using the Super Hub in modem mode, I have an Apple Time Capsule connected to it doing all the wireless router functions.

Yes, that's right. You need to use the network port nearest the cable connection.

How are you testing? Speedtest.net? If so, try a different server. Plus it's a peak time at the moment, the networks will be busier

Yeah using speediest.net on the iPad. Will try a different server location see if that helps.

There's your problem. If I do that on my iPad, I never get close to my 100Mbps. The test files it uses are too small to saturate your connection.

I just ran my test again on my iPad and I got a download of 23.57Mbps, v the almost 100Mbps I get from wifi on my MacBook Pro or wired on my PC.

I haven't got near to 60mb on Speedtest since it was installed a couple of months ago.
30-35 is the norm lately.

Doesn't it defeat the object of having 60mb if im just using wireless devices, I might as well just have a 30mb connection.

Depends on what standard your wireless devices support. If it's 300Mbps 802.11n at 5GHz (for example) then no.
