Seems OK although i'm having trouble getting my DS1010+ download station to work. Port forwarding doesn't seem to be having any effect.

You're right, I was assuming you would be keeping your router.
I think the best advice would be to change your fixed ip addresses which is something you wanted to avoid.
The simplest way would be to assign DHCP addresses in the region of, say, 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.50 then put your 'fixed' values at above that. For example, manually assign the ip address 192.168.0.51 to say your main pc.
It would not get nabbed as it is outside the range of addresses distributed by the hub.
That's my limited understanding of these things, but if someone knows better, I'm keen to know!
