Component - HDMI conversion

My TV Only accepts 1080p over HDMI, and my Xbox is a launch day one that doesn't have the connector.

Rather than shelling out for a new xbox I bought a Component to HDMI converter from HDCable.co.uk, which is advertised as FullHD 1080p.

I plugged it all in and I do get a picture, but I also get a strange ghosting (especially noticable with white text) on the picture, which goes away when I set the output to 1080i.

I've connected the Xbox with the official component cable so it isn't that, can anyone suggest anything else I could try or if it might be a problem with the converter box (http://www.hdcable.co.uk/component-h...nverter.html)?

Thanks for any help

Re: Component - HDMI conversion

Almost nothing on the xbox is native 1080p and it seems to slow the console down, I just use 720p on mine even though I'm on HDMI and I've got a 1080p screen.

the problem lies in that device only convert/transmit, no scalling.... xbox is not 1080p so you can't get 1080p via that device, so your tv won't work.

what you need is a scaling converter which can convert/scale xbox to 1080p... i am not sure whether you can find such a device. we did many but most are 720p, no 1080p.... but why your tv only accepts 1080p, it is strange for me.
