Connecting my PS3 to my BENQ G2200w please help

I followed the general instructions how to connect my ps3 to my monitor via the hdmi-DVI cable. I connect it and at the same time connect the ps3 to my tv via A/V. When i go to display settings and switch to hdmi my monitor still keeps on saying Out of range. I really dont know what to do i tried everything and checked if my monitor has HDCP and it said that it has, so i dont know whats the problem. Please help me i just wasted 40euro on all the stuff i bought.

Does your monitor report a refresh rate and scan frequency for the signal it refuses to lock to?

Perhaps the PS3 is defaulting to an interlaced output, which the monitor doesn't like.

Maybe you'll also find some help in the games forums.
