Recommended RS232 cable for a DVDO VP3

Recommended RS232 cable for a DVDO VP3
I need to update my VP30, but I'm sure I've read somewhere it has to be a certain type of RS232, does anyone know which one it is?

I know now, it's if you use a USB-RS232 adaptor, it has to be FTDI.
