Component Video (YPbPr) to HDMI Converter Adapter

im getting one of these

Play.com (UK) : Hauppauge HD PVR High-Definition Video Recorder : Computing - Free Delivery

you have to use component red green blue cables

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Component-Vide...0:1318&afsrc=1

plugging it into this could i play in hdmi

what the picture be as good as just plugging into straight port of hdmi
what there be a delay
if ps3 is set at 720p it will convert to use hdmi cable with 720p and vicevisa for 1080i or could you have it ps3 set at 720p and it converts it to 1080p

ami i better off getting sometimes different

thnx hitman

Re: Component Video (YPbPr) to HDMI Converter Adapter

From your post its not very clear what your trying to do.Are you trying to record the PS3 playing blurays?

From your post it looks like you want the following setup:

PS3 Component out > HD PVR Component out > Component to HDMI Converter > LCD TV

Why not just use the Component connection on your TV, there is no real need to convert from Component to HDMI unless your TV has no Component input!

The HDMI converter does not Upscale from the look of it.

Alot of people agree that 720p looks better than 1080i, just set your PS3 to that!

From what I have read, when recording, there is a delay/lag on the PC but not on the TV

Hello XHitman

Probably best if you start again and tell folk what kit you have (make and model numbers), what you are trying to achieve and any planned purchases; currently your posts make hard reading.

Re: Component Video (YPbPr) to HDMI Converter Adapter

Ok so my xbox/ps3 will plug into this via component into the input

then you will have in the output component to tv however im getting a monitor which doesnt have component input

W2261V LG 22 INCH 2MS 16:9 FULL HD BLACK LCD MONITOR

VGA (D-Sub)
DVI-D ports
HDMI ports

now is there some type of product which will let me play from component to VGA

BTXL18050 Component to VGA HD15 Cable 5m Only £28.37 at TVCables

which will it need a converter? or some type of product?

Re: Component Video (YPbPr) to HDMI Converter Adapter

How about a unit that will switch and convert 1 x YUV + stereo, 1 x VGA + stereo and 3 x HDMI to the HDMI Input on your Display.

Media Factory - Octava HDCMP31-UK, Wii compatible HDMI + VGA switch

Re: Component Video (YPbPr) to HDMI Converter Adapter

Not sure I understand your Logic - why would VGA be 'better' than HDMI?

I think you mean it would probably be better to use it with HDMI and that only has VGA input? (which isn't true by the way)

Re: Component Video (YPbPr) to HDMI Converter Adapter

Is this device any good? VGA YpbPr to HDMI converter/ HDTV/XBOX/Game/WII/PS2/DVD on eBay.ca (item 120389334193 end time 04-Dec-09 01:40:05 EST)
I want to use it to connect a Wii to a 52" plasma tv. Thanks for any opinions.

Re: Component Video (YPbPr) to HDMI Converter Adapter

At that price? Probably not.

Doesn't your plasma have component in? What is it? Can't say I've heard of any 52" plasmas recently.

Re: Component Video (YPbPr) to HDMI Converter Adapter

It says its going to be 'hi-clear' - that definitely sounds good

Apart from plugging it in to your display there is no way to know if its going to produce a decent image or not.

As choddo2006 asks what Display do you have - you may already have YPbPr (Component) video support without knowing it.

i think the device just directly transmit, no scaling. and that is why the output pictures can be as good as input, and why 1080i to be 1080i.... for this reason, if set xbox to 720p, you won't be able to get 1080i... if you want to do this, you will need a scaled converter.
