input mod, output mpeg - rendering problem

Hi,
I edited video from some HDD camera in Sony Vegas. Camera makes mod file so I have to rename it to .avi because Vegas cant read mod files.
At the end I tried to rendering the video to mpeg. But everytime after the rendering there were lines in video. Id like to ask if you have any ideas what I should do to remove the interlacing from video?
I choose "progressive rendering" but it doesnt help. Also I tried to convert mod to mpeg file by sdcopy converter and another formats like wmv avi .. -doesnt help too.

Here is the sample:

YouTube - pasampeg

Re: input mod, output mpeg - rendering problem

I don't have a clue what .MOD is in terms of video formats, but:

The problem is because you're rendering a progressive file out of an interlaced source, but Vegas doesn't know that the source is interlaced.

Find the file in the Media Manager, right click, choose Properties, and change the Field Order setting from Progressive to Top Field First (probably correct) or Bottom Field First depending on your source.

Re: input mod, output mpeg - rendering problem

I think you are in the wrong forum - there is one for camcorders etc.

However if you can tell us the frame rate, resolution and scanning format of the input master files you have and output transcode files you need we'll have more to go on...

Re: input mod, output mpeg - rendering problem

.mod file is SD MPEG2 - have you tried just renaming the files to .mpg?

Re: input mod, output mpeg - rendering problem

If that doesn't work, you could use virtualdub to pre-process the video, I think you can force its deinterlacing options.

Re: input mod, output mpeg - rendering problem

Sounds odd. Can you upload a small sample file?

imho, probably the best video converter out there is super(c) - might be worth trying that too. Easier to use than virtualdub (although not as easy as it should be)
