barco808s Scaler suggestion

Hi I need a scalar suggestion for a barco808s..
I'tll be used for anything from old/new games consoles up to a i7 920 HTPC so input flexability is mucho important.

1080i and 720p at 72-75hz have been recommended for movie playback so analogue scan rangeneeds to be wide, this will be my 1st crt pj.

p.s. Im open to a used model if condition is good and price is fair..thanks.

Re: barco808s Scaler suggestion

A second hand Lumagen HDP partnered with an HD Fury is what you are looking for here

Would that be preferable to the DVDO VP50 that's also been suggested and do you or anybody know of other alternatives?

Lastly does anybody have a scalar for sale in good working order?
Thanks to all

Re: barco808s Scaler suggestion

Lumagen have no ring scaling and also 11 point Gamma and Greyscale adjustments which the DVDO does'nt have. A second hand Lumagen HDP is probably going to be your best bet here and you should put a wanted ad in the classifieds They usually sell for around the £250 mark second hand which to be honest is well worth it for their calibration tweaks alone

Re: barco808s Scaler suggestion

Whatever you do, don't use a (2nd hand) Centerstage CS1 with a Barco. There were issues that were never resolved regarding distorted geometry.
