Best way to split hd signal.

I have a projector & plasma, i have a legacy processor so no hd switching, what is a good first time switcher/upscaler that wont break the bank.

Re: Best way to split hd signal.

What is it you want, a splitter/distribution or a video processor with upscaling?

Cheapest decent video processor is the DVDO Edge. But you will still need a splitter to run dual-displays.

Cheap simple way of splitting a HDMI to 2 displays can be done with any number of 60 quid boxes available on the 'net e.g. HDMI 1:2 Distribution Amplifier - AVToad.co.uk: Online Plasma & Projector Home Cinema, HiFi and Multiroom Sales

Re: Best way to split hd signal.

We've got a cheap and cheerful we use in the office sometimes: HDMI 4 to 2 Matrix Switch - AVToad.co.uk: Online Plasma & Projector Home Cinema, HiFi and Multiroom Sales But we can often get random HDCP problems, cables don't sync, that kind of thing. Octava is a far more reliable solution, but naturally more money. For example: Octava 4x2 HDMI cross Switch - AVToad.co.uk: Online Plasma & Projector Home Cinema, HiFi and Multiroom Sales (does also add other good features for the money)

Since you won't be using both displays at the same time so much, the cheaper unit will probably be just fine. But even now HDMI has been around 5+ years I still have to make sure we setup a system in the office before we actually install it to make sure it is going to work......
