VP30 firmare upgrade

Hi Guys

I am looking to upgrade the firmware on my VP30 to the latest version and can't seem to find the correct cable for my needs. My laptop has a female 25pin serial on the back and the VP30 a female 9 pin. The upgrade software doesn't allow for the use of usb, if it did getting the correct cable is not a problem.

Can anybody let me know where to get the correct cable or is the only option to take the unit somewhere to have it upgraded?

I am in the Midlands by the way.

Any help is much appreciated.

Re: VP30 firmare upgrade

You can do it via a USB to serial adaptor (which you'll have to buy) connected to the serial cable you got with the VP30 - that's how I do mine straight off a laptop. You need to be careful re FTDI drivers and load up an older driver before you do anything - the DVDO website has guidance on there and the older driver for download. I downloaded the old driver and it works fine.

Thanks for that.

Where would I get the serial to usb converter from?
