Pixel Magic - PEP - Deinterlacer

Anyone familair with the Plasma Enhancer Pro's ?

http://www.pixelmagicsystems.com/sup...ochure_Web.pdf

Currently im looking for something to improve my picture quality and I have been advised to look for one of these things ..

Im a bit let down by what seems to be judder on my current Tosh 42z

and I figured one of these PEP's should improve quality on any lcd so I might as well get one and forget about the judder issue on my tv

I hope any users around here can tell me if these things really do wonders that judge their price

- Edit -

sorry can a mod plz move this to the scaler section of the forum (only just found out it's there)

Re: Pixel Magic - PEP - Deinterlacer

I'm not sure the PE pro is available in the UK any more. It's possible though.
CSE are the distributors I think and Henry @ crtprojectors would also know.

Besides, the issue of Judder needs further investigation before you can say for sure that a Video Processor can fix it (or that one is needed)

Can you explain a bit more about the judder you experience and the circumstances where it appears?

The most likely cause is a 50>60hz or 60>50hz conversion being done somewhere by accident, but what you describe as judder may be different.

I live in Holland by the way

Was planning to get a 2nd hand one because the new price is about the same price of my tv ..

I notice judder when people move across the screen.. or moving objects (for example an opening or closing door) ..
it just seems jerky sometimes and because of that im obsessed now by following everything that moves to see if I can see judder ..

I just bought a Tosh 42Z which is also the reason im noticing faults a lot more because im looking for them..

I just want motion to be as smooth as possible and I was hoping a PEP would finally satisfy me

I didnt check out other scalers because people told me to get a PEP they seem to be very good and wanted by lots of people ..
If you know any other much cheaper deinterlacer which is good enough too, please let me know

Re: Pixel Magic - PEP - Deinterlacer

Hi there
So you can see the judder even when viewing TV from the internal tuner? Even watching something definitely shot on video cameras (like soaps, sports, gameshows, etc)
If so, I suggest turning off all the processing features of the TV and see what happens then. Although perhaps you've had advice about this elsewhere and tried it?

The judder appears to be something most people are having with the Z
I read about people turning on and off stuff depending on what they watch

I dont know much about how everything was shot and about deinterlacing and stuff, I read the PEP has an auto function which should take care of everything ..
All I have to do is set my TV on exact scan (thats what they told me)

Re: Pixel Magic - PEP - Deinterlacer

If nobody suffers judder in 'exact scan' mode, then it does sound plausable that PEP could help, as it wouldn't exhibit the juddering in auto mode.
The best thing would be to get a demo of one somehow.

I just don't want to stick my neck out and say that PEP will definitely do the trick, as I don't know the source of the judder.

Does anyone else know more about these Tosh models?
