TH50PZ70 or PDP-LX508D, do I need a scaler for my setup?
I feel that I may benefit from a new screen.
I currently have a Fujitsu P50XHA30 fed from a DVDO Iscan HD via D-sub.
I get 1:1 pixel mapping only at 60Hz and thats the way its left.
The DVDO Iscan HD has, NTL Pace4000 into a Tivo, output RGB into the sync input of DVDO Iscan HD I think!
Also a Topfield PVR 5800 into component of DVDO Iscan HD.
Also Arcam DV89+ DVD player into component of DVDO Iscan HD.
I could change the NTL (virgin) Pace4000 / Tivo combo for a (virgin) V+ box, if I do, that will have an HDMI output.
or keep the NTL (virgin) Pace4000 / Tivo and get a (virgin) V+ box which will mean both of the above.
I now have a PS3, still boxed, that will have HDMI.
If I get either of the TH50PZ70 or PDP-LX508D I could keep the Iscan HD to sort the signal from the DV89+ DVD, Topfield PVR 5800 and NTL (virgin) Pace4000 / Tivo combo.
The PS3 and V+ may or may not benefit from a new scaler and would would hdmi straight into the new screen?
Would the above solution to keep the Iscan HD be workable, even with new cabling?,
OR,
would a new scaler be the order of the day? say a VP50pro? or other?
My current screen has no internal scaling going on, but that screen wont pixel map at 50Hz with that scaler, if at all.
So with that in mind im a scaler fan, but I may not need one?
If I do so be it, but can anyone help with what I have in mind? Thanks
