X360 - Dvdo Hd+

Hi guys,

Sometime ago a friend installed my home cinema setup including a DVDO HD+.
I have various devices plugged into the HD+ with the analog output running to my Hyundai plasma, no problem.
I recently purchased a Hitachi Illumina PJ-TX300 and have it set up using the DVI output of the HD+ running to the HDMI of the DVDO. All running fine, except whenever I switch to COMP2 (X360) on the DVDO I don't get a picture on the PJ. All other inputs (cable tv, PC, nintendo etc) all work fine!!

I have the Xbox set to 720p and plugged into the DVDO's Component 2 port. It works fine on the plasma running from analog, but not on the Hitachi running from DVI.

Please excuse my ignorance if it is something simple!!

Re: X360 - Dvdo Hd+

What if you set the xbox to 1080i or 480p?

Re: X360 - Dvdo Hd+

1080i has the same effect; works fine on the plasma but not on the PJ
480p works on both!

It looks good at 480p, but I was hoping for some HD quality gaming!
Is this being caused by the scaler or the PJ?

Hmm. All the other sources are SD aren't they? Do you have anything else that can produce a HD picture that you can test?

Totally off the wall suggestion: Have you got HDCP turned on in the HD+ menu? (I'm assuming it's an option, not played with one of those myself)

Re: X360 - Dvdo Hd+

Thanks for the advice choddo.

Unfortunately the X360 is the only HD source I have!
The HD+ has a "HDCP Mode" option which is set to "On".

Re: X360 - Dvdo Hd+

Component HD resolutions are only passed thru to the VGA port where it remains a component signal.

or as it says in the manual:

High Definition signal formats (720p, 1080i) on the Component
inputs are automatically passed through to the output.

Re: X360 - Dvdo Hd+

Bugger.....!

In that case maybe I'll buy a long component cable and plug it directly into the PJ!!

Thanks for your help.

Re: X360 - Dvdo Hd+

Re: X360 - Dvdo Hd+

If the 360 has a VGA output you could pass-thru the scaler at HD resolutions and save yourself a cable (but won't do DVI output at any resolution unfortunately).
