Original Lumagen Vision to Panny TH50PZ70B

Hi Guys,
Just ordered a Panasonic TH50PZ70B 1080p plasma and need a little bit of help with integrating the Lumagen Vision(original).
Currently I have my Arcam DV88+ DVD player going into the Lumagen via component and to my 42PH9 via VGA lead to the PC input, I've got the Vision set at 768@50Hz.
I understand the TH50PZ70B wont take 1080 through the PC input, only up to 1366x768@60Hz.
Should I use a VGA to component cable to connect to the component inputs on the TH50PZ70B to the Lumagen to send a 1080 signal?
Does anyone know what resolution to set the Lumagen at?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dave

Re: Original Lumagen Vision to Panny TH50PZ70B

Interesting dilemma. I'd say try both....768 to pc and 1080p to component. As I've never tried this I can't say which will be best.

Re: Original Lumagen Vision to Panny TH50PZ70B

Thanks Gordon!
I think the TH50PZ70B only supports 1080p over the HDMI ports, the component port supports up to 1080i (according to the manual!).
Am I right in thinking that if I feed a 1080i signal from the Lumagen into the component sockets via a VGA to component cable, then the screen itself will progressivly scan the signal? I want the Lumagen to perform the film mode deinterlacing as apparantly the screen can't do this.
God this gets complicated!
