Mosquito noise, how do I get rid of it?

on the cheap....

I am aware of the better noise capabilities of the 'next generation' of video processors in this respect and have already looked at the two Algolith products but I want to find a cheap solution of a DVD player feeding a Panasonic plasma tv to keep the mosquito noise 'better under control'. It is driving me mad and I have a bad case with the Tosh 9000 feeding a Panny Viera PV500. A swap to an Arcam player from a Toshiba 9000 seemed to help. What else could I do?

How cheap is "cheap"? The Algolith Fly costs USD 999. Lumagen scaling is said to remove some Mosquito noise, too. Other than that some displays have built in Mosquito noise reduction - but of course that's usually not as sophisticated as e.g. the Algolith stuff.

Cheap, meaning REALLY cheap here I have a spare VP (or three) and I think I will try and sneak an DVDO ulta in at some point but this for the 'kids / family' room as opposed to the 'cinema' where MY toys are. This means as simple as possible, as few boxes as possible, all using built in speakers etc....I am not sure I can even sneak a ultra in tbh!! So it is something hideable, cheaper than the flea, or a change in DVD player (a few around the place I can try) or some other smart idea.

Lumagen is coming for the cinema but not really applicable here both on price and as the deal I struck with the wife to have my big play room
