Pio 433MXE + Oppo DVI advice needed

Hi,

Wonder if anyone could advise.
I've recently bought a Oppo DV971H player primarely for it's DVI output.
But having connected it to the Pioneer 433MXE plasma, find it doesn't output a DVI signal the plasma will recognize.

I've spoken to Oppo and they tell me the plasma doesn't accept a DVI range they work with, only a PC DVI signal (So my Yamakawa 365 was a real find, having been watching upscaled 720P for the past couple of years until it died) I digress, so my question is - are there any video processing boxes/devices I can use to adjust the Oppo's DVI signal to one the plasma will accept?

Surely some Pio 433 MXE users are in the same boat?

Thanks, Simon

can you create custom DVI settings, i.e. change phase and such things???

I use a Momitsu 880n via DVI and picture works fine at dot for dot custom settings as well as a few others - this is going into a 433MXE Pioneer panel also

regards
Gary

You need a scaler that output component, i have the same screen and the DVI is really only of use for PC stuff.

Looking at the manual for the player, it only lists PAL resolutions at 50hz, which IIRC the 433MXE doesn't support correctly.

The NTSC ones at 60hz should be ok though, i think the 720p at 60hz should be ok.

will try it on our Momitsu and let you know.

UPDATE....

Have just tried and Oppo are correct the 433MXE only supports PC resolutions - tried 720P at 50hz and 60hz, out of range errors, tried 1024 x 768 (and custom DVI settings) which work fine.
