can i rip video data off of a dvd?

I have a dvd that i would like to extract a bit of video from, is this possible?

Discussion of software to bypass DVD copyprotection is forbidden on the forums. If the DVD is a home movie disc, use the video editing software that was used to compile it.

yup. checkout www.videohelp.com for tools and guides and where to download them

try a program called dvd shrink, its free
