That first person interviewed bang on there .. and the arcam bloke True too..looks a trusting guy also even if camra shy who is not, every credit

thing is this Credit crunch in av only reason mega price rise to RRP on top of pound is due to the dam underwriters are not guaranteeing retailers etc, so the retailers have to pay up front so no deals can be struck even if the sales are there..

and this can go across the board also..

watched Utube hd also

Re: State of the AV Industry Report (Feb 2009)

Very interesting.

A comment made by the bloke at the end struck me - he said things which were due to be launched and pushed this year (OLED, and presumably LED PJs) will be held back for a couple of years until the market gets going again.

I wonder if that might result in better, more 'finished' products at launch.

Steve,

I have my doubts about OLED and certainly didn't expect to see it at consumer levels for at least another 5-8 years if not longer. It is still such a fragile and extremely expensive technology. We should see LED tech making it to market in larger numbers over the next 2-3 years.
But the biggest point of the various conversations at Bristol and with others in the know, is that prices are going to go up in April by quite a large amount; many consumers are going to get a shock when the bargains that may still be available disappear come the new financial year.

Aye, she is actually called Julie.

I heard recently (it may not be accurate information) that the recent Dixons/Currys/PC World Logik Blu-ray Discplayer is made in the UK (Wales?) is that why it's only £129?

No Idea. But yes, if something is manufactured in the UK, apart from parts costs it shouldn't be affected like those bought in Yen etc.
