interesting interview with the organizer. given some of the high end stuff at the show i'm not surprised at his attitude towards the japanese brands. however i'm sure a lot of people going to the show would like to see them there anyway..

If for whatever reason, the movie doesn't download in full, your browser will think you have it in full and continue to show you only the portion you have.
Either watch it in an alternative browser or clear your cache and try again. Or download the WMV version. Or watch it on iTunes or YouTube. Lots of options.

Great to hear some Depeche Mode on the video! Not sure which remix of Behind the Wheel was used though?

Re: Bristol Sound & Vision Show 2009 Intro

This is something I would have loved to see. The difference between the 2 set ups at the AVforums stand.

I wish there was a shop that would do this so I could see it for myself.

I'm pretty sure that this is the kind of thing everybody needs to see.

Is there also a demo of the difference between an out of the box display and an ISF calibrated one?

Best wishes

Phil and David were doing that. Showing the demo with the screens calibrated and then switching to the out-of-the-box settings and the reaction from viewers was predictable. They didn't like the uncalibrated picture. If we had thought it through more, we could have sold a bunch of ISF calibrations right there and then.

I agree... I've been wanting to learn how to come close myself.. but the less time I have and the differences I saw, that were as expected, I am thinking about asking someone to do it for me now.. I've always thought what if I move in 12 months?!? and But my lounge will never look great even after ISF.. But after seeing the improvements possible even under show conditions and speaking face to face with Phil, I probably could have had my arm twisted there and then... if there had been a Show Discount

Re: Bristol Sound & Vision Show 2009 Intro

Will the AVforums team be anywhere else this year showing this set comparison?.... If so, please let us know. I would very much like to attend an AV show at somepoint and see these calibrated tests myself.

Best wishes
