Glad to hear the new Toshiba screen technology is 'echo' friendly.

Maybe that will please the "large panels buzz" people?

Nice one tosh i do like the Expert mode idea for the screens (seems like a ISF setting mode) this would be most welcome indeed.

Been waiting for a Toshiba with LED local dimming............lets hope Toshiba UK decides to use similar models in our market, and releases it whilst I've still got a job to pay for one!

Would have enjyed this more if the chap had stood still a little while - I was getting dizzy!

As to the TV's - I like the idea of 240Hz 'like' refresh - he didn't try to oversell it and was pleased he said the SV range was anit-reflective as some photos didn't seem to show that.

Still taking in all this new info - all the manufacturers are bringing out great stuff - pity we're all getting strapped for cash!

Cheers, cooperda (daveac)

Re: CES 2009: Toshiba Press Conference (in 5 parts)

Ironic that they say we've made quantum leaps this year but next there's more to come. i.e. so why buy this year if you know it's all going to be surpassed next; esp. in the financial down turn? Unless they're hoping people will buy a new set yearly in the stay at home times.
Seems a shame you have to go all the way to the top tier sets to get LED backlighting and doesn't bode well on pricing.
