If I remember correctly, Toshibas usually have greyscale controls and colour management systems, so an accurate calibration should be possible.

Yes the X3030 has a 3d colour management system in the menus and the white balance (greyscale) can be done in the service menus. Looks very nice as well when calibrated, see my review from a few months back.

thanks phil, i'll do a search and check it out

i did notice before that you can fiddle with lots of settings with mine. i thought i'd leave it well alone though not wanting to make it worse

maybe time to call in the pro's!!!

Re: Tutorial - What is ISF Calibration? (Part One)

Hi Phil,

Just would like to say thanks for the new tutorial videos very informative.

My only complaint and it is only minor.

The names when introducing the teachers are a bit pixelated.

It doesn't look to bad on my PC but when watched on my iPod video or on my TV through my PS3 the text is almost unreadable.

The rest though is excellent.

We're going to re-film it because we weren't happy that it was clear enough. There were too many unexplained buzz words and concepts thrown into the explanation which hadn't been previously explained.
We're scheduled to do it this year some time.

Cheers, that's good news.

I think Neil's explanations on Part 1 and the other tutorials are absolutely crystal clear - a lesson to the makers of DVE, etc. Good to know the standard is being maintained.

I have the 42x3030 and I was considering looking into calibration and purchasing the Sypder 2. It looks very indepth though. I enjoy the picture my set gives already but I know its capable of so much more. Saying that though Kill Bill on BLU looked awesome last night
