Re: IFA 2009 - Panasonic Full HD 3D Tech

You know, after seeing that review I've come to realise that introducing new technology is more about "winning hearts and minds" than actually getting the technology to work. I believe that 3D is the next step towards the future of Movies/gaming etc and I am a total advocate of it. I totally understand that people don't want to spend yet more money on uprading their TVs etc, but there are cheaper alternatives out there too...e.g. shutter glasses with a dlp projector and/or 3D monitor. The technology is already here and I for one, think it looks great. If anything will kill off 3D, it's all the skeptics and those people who knock it, without even experiencing real 3D at first hand.

Re: IFA 2009 - Panasonic Full HD 3D Tech

I've experienced it quite a few times and it's a case of me disliking it less as time goes by, not me being amazed (like I was with HDTV, which is an undeniable improvement whatever way you look at it).

The one thing that so far has been an all-out improvement for me has been the PS3 3D demos that Sony Computer was showing off. For me, that was a real "you can't turn back" thing. But movies? One of the defining points of Hollywood movies has been the use of selective focus, which by definition looks unrealistic, yet pleasing. I've yet to be convinced of 3D's use there.
